Here’s something that I have been thinking on.  God created light in Genesis. That means that before that there was darkness.  So, why light?

Since Jesus is called the Light, it must be a demonstration of Him on an everyday basis for mankind. A witness if you will.  This also became an illustration for mankind to understand the difference between good and evil.

I can understand the idea of seeing better in the light and stumbling around in the dark banging my shins on the coffee table, stepping on legos etc.

God uses many things in this world to be object lessons for us.  Imagine, if you will, this world without light. Now imagine it without the Light of God – if there was no good, but only evil.

“Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to thee.” Psalm 139:12.
